ARCHIE-WeSt User Guide: Introduction
ARCHIE-WeSt provides Research Computing facilities to the University of Strathclyde and other Institutions primarily in the west of Scotland.
The pages in this section provide a comprehensive overview of how to access and use ARCHIE-WeSt.
The machine, supplied by Lenovo and installed by OCF, consists of the following specification:
84 Standard compute nodes (Lenovo SD30 servers)
- 2 x Intel Xeon Gold 6138 20 core 2.0GHz CPU's
- 40 cores per node
- 2560 cores in total
- 192 GB RAM per node
2 Large memory nodes (Lenovo SR850 servers)
- 4 x Intel Xeon Gold 6138 20 core 2.0GHz CPU's
- 80 cores per node
- 3 TB RAM per node
4 Visualization capable Login nodes (Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 servers)
- 2 x Intel Xeon Gold 6138 20 core 2.0GHz CPU's
- 768 GB RAM per node
- NVidia Quadro P4000 graphics card
6 GPU nodes (24 NVidia A100 GPUs in total)
- 2 Lenovo SR670 servers, each with:
- 4 x NVidia A100 40GB GPUs (PCIe)
- 2 x Intel Xeon Gold 5218R 2.10GHz CPUs
- 192 GB RAM
- 4 Dell PowerEdge XE8545 servers, each with:
- 4 x NVidia A100 80GB GPUs with NVLink (A100SXM)
- 2 x AMD EPYC 7513 2.60 GHz CPUs
- 512 GB RAM
High performance network (100Gb/s Intel Omnipath)
